GAMES MUST BE ABLE TO EASILY BE TAUGHT
It Does not matter how great the game is, if I can not find anyone to play it, the game is worthless to me. This has-been my experience with RFTG. I LOVE this game. My wife and our friends-have-been slow to come around (I am still holding out hope though.).
This HAS Caused me to be cautious about buying Games That are too heavy or difficult to teach.

GAMES MUST HAVE GREAT replayability
Biblios. I first played this at a local convention and had a blast. I received the game in a local trade and the game Quickly Became samey. I still enjoy playing it every once and awhile, I was Hopping aim for something more substantial businesses.
